RENO, NV - The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is still looking for information about a suspicious death.
Deputies were called to a car in the area of the Mount Rose Highway and Wedge Parkway Sunday, July 28. The person driving the car had called 911, saying there was a problem with the man he was driving with. Deputies found that man dead when they arrived on scene late in the morning. He has been identified as 22-year-old Kurtis Hansen of Reno.
But Jason Chessher is charged with battery with a deadly weapon after a fight with Hansen earlier that morning at a bar in Washoe Valley.
Chessher is not the same man who called deputies.
The coroner's office is working to determine exactly what caused the man's death, and as of right now, it's not clear whether the apparent attack led to the death.
Detectives are looking for information about Hansen's whereabouts and activities on Saturday, the 27th.
